4th Quarter Reflection
During the fourth quarter, I had the opportunity to explore Microsoft FrontPage, a tool for web design and development. Below is my reflection on my experiences and achievements.
I learned how to create and design web pages using MS FrontPage, particularly through its WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, which allows users to design web pages without requiring extensive coding knowledge. I also gained insights into the basics of HTML, including how to insert images, add hyperlinks, and format text to improve the website's visual appeal. Furthermore, I explored themes, templates, and publishing options that streamline the website creation process.
One of the main challenges I encountered was understanding the interface and tools of MS FrontPage, especially when using more advanced features like forms and tables. I also faced compatibility issues, as MS FrontPage is an older software, and some modern web design practices are not fully supported. Additionally, troubleshooting layout and design errors sometimes took longer than expected.
To overcome these challenges, I turned to tutorials and guides to learn how to use various features effectively. I practiced regularly by working on small projects to become more familiar with the tools. I also sought help from teachers and classmates whenever I faced difficulties. By comparing MS FrontPage with modern website builders, I gained a better understanding of how web design has evolved.
Moving forward, I plan to enhance my web design skills by exploring modern tools like WordPress and Wix, as well as coding with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I will also focus on improving my problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities by experimenting with more complex web projects. Most importantly, I will apply the foundations I gained from using MS FrontPage to create better and more functional websites in the future. Overall, this quarter has been a valuable learning experience, and I look forward to further developing my web development skills.
